George F. Johnson Memorial Library Internet Policy
Welcome to Internet access at the George F. Johnson Memorial Library. We offer world-class Roadrunner cable access provided free by Time-Warner Cable.
Library users may not use the library Internet stations for unlawful purposes, to view illegal content, or sexually graphic material. The Library uses technology protection measures to filter content in accordance with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA). Filters may also block acceptable sites relevant to your search. If you are under 17 years of age the filter will not be deactivated unless a waiver signed by your parent/guardian is on file. The librarian will disable the entire filter upon request by users 17 years of age or over, for any lawful purpose and in accordance with the Library's Internet policy. If the filter is disabled, patrons are still prohibited from viewing sexually graphic material. Internet privileges will be revoked for violation of this policy. The filter will not be disabled for any reason in the Children's Room. Use of the Library Internet stations constitutes agreement with this policy.
Be aware that some information found on the Internet is of a mature nature and may be offensive and/or inappropriate for some users. Content filters may not block all objectionable sites. If you choose to browse the many sites available via the Internet, the library cannot be held responsible for inappropriate materials encountered on some sites.
Remember that use of the Internet at the George F. Johnson Memorial Library is a privilege, not a right. Please be courteous and conscientious to the other library users as you access graphics in this public forum.
