July 2008 Calendar of Events.......

We Need Petition Carriers

Later this year, the George F. Johnson  Memorial Library in Endicott and Your Home Public  Library in Johnson City will ask voters in the Town of Union to support a slight increase in the funding  established through passage of a 2004 proposition. Funding for the two libraries in the Town of Union has not been   increased since the 2004 vote.
This summer
the libraries will be conducting a petition drive to obtain the 2,000 signatures needed to have the referendum brought before the public on November 4, 2008. Volunteers will go door-to-door seeking support for the petition, and  petitions will be available at the Endicott and Johnson City libraries. The two libraries are actively recruiting volunteers to assist with the petition effort.

If you would like to help - contact Library Directors Ed Dunscombe (Endicott) at 757-2415 or Steve Bachman (Johnson City) at 797-4816 for more information.

scheduled for the second Thursday of each month @7PM. If you have any issues you would like to discuss with the library board, please inform the library director so that you can be put on the agenda. The next meeting will be
