Cover The Giving Tree
by Shel Silverstein

Children’s Picture Books section

Here is a children’s book that every adult should also read. The Giving Tree will do anything to try to make The Boy happy. It gives all that The Boy asks for - shade, apples, a place to climb and swing. But when the boy asks for too much, the tree gives and gives to the point of self-destruction. This is a little book with a lot of meaning. The Giving Tree reminds us never to lose ourselves in pursuit of someone else’s happiness.
